Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., an innovative non-profit provider of evidence-based treatment for substance use and mental health disorders, today announced that its Lowell treatment facility is now fully operational. The facility, which opened in June, began by initially offering outpatient treatment and has since received clearance to provide its full breadth of services to all community members seeking support.
“Since the opening of our new facility, we have already seen the significant impact our outpatient services have had on the Lowell community,” said Kristin Nolan, Chief Operating Officer at Spectrum Health Systems. “Knowing that the city of Lowell and its surrounding regions continue to face a critical need for accessible, comprehensive substance use treatment, we are excited to officially be able to offer all levels of care under one roof to those in need of support.”

The Lowell facility provides three integrated levels of care, including a 16-bed inpatient detoxification unit with 24/7 medical monitoring, a 44-bed Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) program for short-term residential treatment, and outpatient services offered six days a week with medication for addiction treatment as well as individual and group counseling. Past Spectrum patients and new patients alike can now visit the facility and receive any of these services from Spectrum’s trained clinicians. The facility is also co-located with Vinfen, which offers programs that serve as an alternative to emergency rooms and incarceration for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
Since its founding in 1969, Spectrum Health Systems has helped countless individuals overcome addiction and reclaim their lives, and today offers the most comprehensive continuum of substance use disorder treatment services in the region. The addition of the Lowell facility further strengthens its ability to deliver timely, evidence-based care across Massachusetts.
The Lowell treatment facility is located at 10 Technology Drive, Lowell, MA 01851. To see the hours for both outpatient and inpatient services, visit https://www.spectrumhealthsystems.org/10-technology-drive-lowell/.
