DETENTION
Located in North Grafton, Massachusetts, Spectrum’s 10-bed detention program serves females 13 to 20 years of age with charges ranging from misdemeanors to felony. The goal of this short-term program is to reduce delinquent behaviors and encourage positive change in a safe, supportive, and highly structured environment.

Spectrum’s detention program is based on the belief that positive change is possible given access to appropriate resources. Program staff emphasize structure and accountability, while incorporating incentives and opportunities that enable program participants to develop pro-social skills and make sustainable pro-social gains.

During the youth’s stay in detention, Spectrum works closely with the Department of Youth Services to recommend appropriate services for the next level of care. As appropriate, referrals may include an array of educational, recreational, vocational, and behavioral health related resources. Length of stay depends on the level of court involvement.
