Breakwater Program
125 Milk Street, Methuen, MA

Funded by the Department of Children and Families, the Breakwater Program is an intensive treatment residence for adolescent males with a wide range of behavioral health needs. The program utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed, individualized approach to assist youth in developing prosocial skills, addressing behavioral issues, and setting personal goals. Participants follow a structured weekly schedule consisting of education, individual counseling, group therapy, mindfulness exercises, and planned recreational activities. Progress is assessed every 30 days by the multidisciplinary team. Transition and aftercare planning begins upon admission, is adjusted throughout treatment, and continues after discharge from the program. Participating in services after discharge is encouraged to assist youth in maintaining and building upon their progress while supporting their long-term goals.
