Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. was recently awarded a new contract by the Maine Department of Corrections to provide case management services at the Central Maine Pre-Release Center in Hallowell. Under the contract, Spectrum’s case manager will be responsible for helping inmates prepare for release and transition back into the community.

In 2003, Spectrum was selected by the same agency to implement a 40-bed residential substance abuse treatment program at the Maine Correctional Center and therapeutic transitional services for 18 inmates at the Central Maine Pre-Release Center.

“Spectrum and the Department have established a strong working relationship over the past two years,” commented Peter Paolantonio, Vice President for Clinical Services. “By facilitating re-entry and promoting a continuum of care, the new contract will help lower recidivism for inmates returning to the community."

Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit substance abuse and mental health treatment provider. In addition to Maine, Spectrum operates programs in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Georgia and Arizona – serving more than 18,000 adults and at-risk youth each year.
