Spectrum Health Systems held its Annual Meeting on October 15, 2015 at the Beechwood Hotel in Worcester, Massachusetts. Spectrum staff and board members were joined by more than 130 supporters, colleagues, and public officials in celebrating the organization’s achievements and future plans.  To begin the meeting, Spectrum’s board elected David Felper, a partner with the Bowditch and Dewey law firm of Worcester, as it new chair.

Chief Operating Officer Kurt Isaacson presented Spectrum’s annual report, highlighting the organization’s recent growth including three new outpatient treatment centers in Massachusetts, a new peer recovery support center in Lawrence, the opening of The New England Recovery Center for private pay and commercially insured clients and the completion of a brand new, state-of-the-art 100-bed residential treatment facility in Westborough, MA.  “We’re expanding not because we can, but because we should,” said Mr. Isaacson as he summed up the organization’s expansion.

The keynote address was delivered by Secretary of Public Safety Daniel Bennett, who spoke of the evolving role his office plays in dealing the opiate crisis. Two clients from Spectrum’s residential program delivered compelling messages about their personal struggles with addiction, the challenges they’ve faced and the ways Spectrum has helped them reclaim their dignity, reconnect with family and prepare for maintaining a lasting recovery.

Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is a private, non-profit substance abuse and mental health treatment provider.  Spectrum offers the largest and most complete continuum of addiction treatment in New England - including inpatient detoxification, residential rehabilitation, outpatient services, medication-assisted treatment and peer recovery support.
