Spectrum Health Systems today opened the doors to the New England Recovery Center™, a 36-bed private residential substance abuse treatment facility on Spectrum’s Westborough campus.  The New England Recovery Center (NERC) will provide onsite detoxification and inpatient treatment with a focus on opiate addiction recovery.

“There continues to be a considerable demand for addiction treatment beds, and the New England Recovery Center will offer clients a treatment option that focuses on personalized, holistic care,” said Charles Faris, president and CEO of Spectrum.  “Today addiction is a disease that impacts individuals from all walks of life and sadly deaths from opiate overdoses have increased by nearly 50 percent in the past couple years.  Access to treatment is essential.”

Through the NERC Spectrum aims to alleviate the shortage of inpatient treatment options tailored to commercially insured individuals in Massachusetts, while continuing the organization’s 46-year commitment to providing the highest quality of care to all in need of recovery.

“This facility’s comfort and amenities allow clients to focus entirely on recovery and improving their lives,” said Nicole Costa, executive director of inpatient services at Spectrum.  “The New England Recovery Center offers personalized clinical care in a welcoming and supportive environment.”

NERC’s state-of-the-art facility provides an intimate and individualized setting for treatment and will offer clients amenities including yoga and meditation classes, massage therapy and personal training.  The program includes individual and group therapy with leading clinicians as well as continuing care planning and family engagement.

Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is a private, non-profit substance abuse and mental health treatment provider.  Spectrum offers the largest and most complete continuum of addiction treatment in New England – including inpatient detoxification, residential rehabilitation, outpatient services and medication-assisted treatment.
