Spectrum Health Systems Inc. was recently recognized by the Economic Development Committee (EDC) of Westborough, Massachusetts for construction completed on its flagship Westborough Treatment Campus. The award was presented by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito along with members of the Committee during the Second Annual Year-in-Review Celebration.

“Westborough is thriving and has caught attention nationally,” said Committee Chairwoman Deborah Penta, echoing the sentiments of Money Magazine which named Westborough one of its “Best Places to Live” earlier in 2015. “Our relationship with the Town of Westborough is second to none,” added Spectrum President and CEO Chuck Faris. “That relationship has allowed Spectrum to meet the demand for addiction treatment through thoughtful planning and design, in collaboration with town employees, public safety and community members. Growth without a plan is not sustainable growth.”

The Westborough EDC noted the growth seen at Spectrum has contributed to the expansion of nearly 362,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space in the town. Spectrum alone added more than 40,000 square feet in the newly constructed 104-bed Faris Recovery Center earlier this year in an effort to provide its cutting-edge addiction treatment services in a dignified, state-of-the-art facility.

This award symbolizes Spectrum’s commitment to being a partner in the region’s economic development, from much needed construction jobs, to site improvements and expansion of the areas workforce.

The Westborough Economic Development Committee is comprised of town officials and appointed business leaders.  It was formed in 2008 to promote business development, advise the Board of Selectmen on economic policy, and work with private and public partners in attracting businesses to the town.

Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is a private, non-profit substance abuse and mental health treatment provider.  Spectrum offers the largest and most complete continuum of addiction treatment in New England - including inpatient detoxification, residential rehabilitation, outpatient services, medication-assisted treatment and peer recovery support.
