Spectrum's Vice President of Clinical Services, Peter Paolantonio recently presented at a three-day training conference hosted by the Maine Department of Corrections. More than two-hundred correctional staff attended the annual event. Mr. Paolantonio was asked to present on the principles of effective treatment and evidence-based treatment approaches, while providing an overview of Spectrum’s in-prison treatment model in Maine.

Mr. Paolantonio has overseen Spectrum’s contract with the Maine Department of Corrections since its inception nearly five years ago. In 2003, Spectrum was awarded a contract to provide residential substance abuse treatment to forty male offenders at the Maine Correctional Center, followed by transitional treatment services to 18 male offenders nearing release at the Central Maine Pre-Release Center. Subsequently, Spectrum was awarded an additional contract by the Department of Corrections to provide case management services for inmates preparing for release at the Maine Pre-Release Center.
