Roger H. Peters, Ph.D. serves as Spectrum Health Systems’ Senior Research Advisor. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy at the University of South Florida, where he has been a faculty member since 1986. Dr. Peters has also served as Principal Investigator and Director for numerous grant projects, including a NIDA P30 Research Core Center award to establish the USF Center on Co-Occurring Disorders, Justice, and Multidisciplinary Research (CJM Center). In addition, he was the chair and co-editor of the SAMHSA/CSAT Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) #44 on “Substance Abuse Treatment for Adults in the Criminal Justice System” and lead author of the monograph, “Screening and Assessment of Co-Occurring Disorders in the Justice System” (3rd edition) which was published by SAMHSA in 2016.

Kendra Marien has 20 years of experience in behavioral health and is currently the Clinical Director for Inpatient Services at Spectrum Health Systems and a Senior Instructor at Worcester State University. She has a BA in Art Therapy from Emmanuel College and a Master’s in Social Work from Salem State University. Also, Ms. Marien is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and has a diplomate in treating co-occurring mental illness and addiction.

Lynn LeBlanc-Marrone is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor with 30 years of experience treating substance use disorders.  She is the Director of Outpatient Clinical Services for Spectrum Health Systems.  Ms. LeBlanc-Marrone also teaches at Assumption College, Anna Maria College and Westfield State University/AdCare Educational Institute---Addiction Counselor Education Program.

Romas Buivydas, Ph.D., LMHC, has more than twenty years of experience in the behavioral health field. His expertise spans program development and implementation, training, quality assurance, risk management, compliance and data management. As Spectrum’s Vice President of Clinical Development, Dr. Buivydas provides training and consultation in clinical methods and instructional techniques to program staff throughout the organization. Previously, Dr. Buivydas provided consultation to numerous behavioral health organizations and was formerly the Director of Evaluation at a hospital-based psychiatric/addiction department for six years. He is also a national presenter/trainer at conferences/symposia across the country.
