Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. recently welcomed three additions to the New England Recovery Center™ (NERC) management team, following the February hiring of Nicole Costa as Executive Director of Inpatient and Residential Services.  Stacy Weckwerth, Duncan Speel and Julie DiLeo will join Ms. Costa in the operation of the NERC which opens this month on Spectrum's 25-acre treatment campus in Westborough, Massachusetts.

JulieDiLeoJulie DiLeo brings years of human resources experience to Spectrum in both direct care and management roles. "Spectrum is the leading provider for substance abuse services in New England," said Ms. DiLeo of her new position. "That along with being named 'Top Workplace' in 2014 by the Worcester Business Journal were motivating factors in joining this team." The Fitchburg State University graduate will manage admissions for the NERC while pursuing her Master's of Social Work degree at Springfield College.


stacyweckwerthStacy Weckwerth will function as Utilization Review Specialist for the NERC.  She brings over a decade of behavioral health experience including work with individuals with co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders.  "It's common for behavioral health patients to feel anxious." said Ms. Weckwerth of her new role "I'll work to relieve that anxiety by advocating for our patients and to help ensure that they're afforded access to the highest quality of care and treatment." Ms. Weckwerth comes to Spectrum from South Bay Mental Health.


DuncanSpeelBy hiring Program Director Duncan Speel, Spectrum secures nearly 20 years of experience in behavioral health treatment.  "I'm excited to lead the NERC in providing high quality recovery services to individuals who have a desire to live a life free of substance abuse."  Mr. Speel received a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Nazarene College in Psychology and a Master's in Education from Cambridge College with a focus on Counseling in Addictions.


Spectrum's New England Recovery Center is a 36-bed residential substance abuse treatment program opening April 2015, adding yet another layer of care to Spectrum's Westborough Campus. Through the NERC Spectrum aims to alleviate the shortage of inpatient treatment options for private pay/commercially insured individuals in Massachusetts, while continuing to provide the highest quality of care to all in need of recovery.
