Spectrum Health Systems Inc. was recently recognized by the Economic Development Committee (EDC) of Westborough, Massachusetts for construction completed on its flagship Westborough Treatment Campus. The award was presented by Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito along with members of the Committee during the Second Annual Year-in-Review Celebration.

Peter Paolantonio, chief clinical officer (CCO) of Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. and nationally recognized lecturer and consultant, was recently awarded the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) for his contributions over the course of his 40-year career at Spectrum.  Mr. Paolantonio received his award during the ABH’s Salute to Excellence ceremony on October 23rd at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Spectrum Health Systems was recently notified by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) of a 3-year, $1 million grant award to operate a reentry mentoring program to support offenders with substance use disorders releasing from state prisons in Massachusetts.  These individuals are considered high risk for resuming their criminal behavior and drug activity upon return to the community. Spectrum is one of just six such awardees across the country selected by the DOJ.  

Spectrum Health Systems is pleased to announce the hiring of the organization’s first Chief Information Officer (CIO), Robert Brandner of West Hartford, Connecticut.  In this newly created role, Mr. Brandner will be responsible for providing vision, leadership and direction in the development and implementation of information technology programs in support of Spectrum’s business operations.

Spectrum Health Systems held its Annual Meeting on October 15, 2015 at the Beechwood Hotel in Worcester, Massachusetts. Spectrum staff and board members were joined by more than 130 supporters, colleagues, and public officials in celebrating the organization’s achievements and future plans.  To begin the meeting, Spectrum’s board elected David Felper, a partner with the Bowditch and Dewey law firm of Worcester, as it new chair.
